Essential oils and herbs |
Greenvalley International is a distributor of essential oils & herbs of Delacon. This Austrian (Linz) company has more than 20 years of experience in the development and production of phytogenic feed additives. Dealcon’s strategy is based on the advantages of the positive influence of plant-based digestibility enhancers and optimization of animal production.
The Delacon phytogenic feed additives are well-blended compositions of special plant-based raw materials. The main ingredients are essential oils, vegetable oils, as well as herbs and spices. The use of natural ingredients with different active substances achieves better results than the use of individual substances. This synergetic effect provides the beneficial effect on the intestinal health and optimal animal performance. The product range is adjusted to the needs of the different animal species.
Active substances:
Essential oils
Essential oils stimulate feed intake, the secretion of digestive juices and enzymes. Increased digestive secretions in turn promote the breakdown of nutrients into easily absorbed molecules and will improve feed digestion. The essential oils are coated in order to protect the volatile substances during feed processing, which ensures the full release of essential oils into the digestive tract.
Bitter substances
Bitter substances stimulate production of saliva and gastric secretions. Feed digestion is stimulated and nutrient breakdown is intensified.
Pungent substances
Pungent substances increase blood circulation and improve animal metabolism, e.g. detoxification processes.
Saponins
Saponins improve the permeability of the intestinal cell walls and strengthen the immune system. Saponins stimulate the intake of nutrients, e.g. Calcium and Phosphorus. They also inhibit the activity of urease enzymes, thereby reducing the emission of ammonia, as well respiratory disease risk.
Flavonoids
Flavonoids are anti-oxidants, they are effective against diarrhea, ulcers and infection. Moreover they regulate the immune system.
Mucilages
Mucilages are primarily found in plant seeds. They form a protective shield and keep pathogenic micro organisms away from the intestinal wall.
