Acids

In young animals, acid production in the stomach is still not optimal because the stomach is not well-developed at a young age. A low pH-value in the stomach is crucial for optimal digestion and protease activity. Moreover, delayed gastric emptying  requires a low pH in the stomach, giving enzymes from e.g. the pancreas more time.

Greenacid OPCL acid is a combination of lactic acid, orthophosphoric acid and citric acid. Lactic and citric acid have an antimicrobial function in addition to decreasing the pH-value of the feed. Furthermore, lactic and citric acid have a fresh taste, which stimulates feed intake. Orthophosphoric acid is unique in terms of reducing the buffering capacity of the feed, which enhances digestion.
